Supporting Long-Term Liver Health

Fatty liver disease is common and often silent in its early stages. For patients who have already been diagnosed or found to have abnormal liver tests, structured evaluation and ongoing monitoring are critical to understanding progression risk.

Early detection, accurate risk assessment, and long-term management are essential. At Shaya Digestive & Liver Clinic, Fatty Liver care is centered on slowing progression, preventing complications, and supporting overall metabolic health.

Understanding Fatty Liver Disease

Fatty liver disease occurs when extra fat builds up inside the liver. In many people, this develops gradually and causes no clear symptoms at first. It’s often discovered during routine blood work or imaging done for another reason.

However, many patients are told they have fatty liver but aren’t given a clear plan. In reality, managing fatty liver disease requires answering three key questions:

Is there inflammation?

Is there scarring?

What is the individual risk of progression over time?

Blood tests alone do not always tell the full story. Some patients with normal liver enzymes may still have meaningful changes in the liver. That’s why more precise tools, such as non-invasive liver scanning (FibroScan®).

In-Office FibroScan® Testing

When appropriate, we offer in-office FibroScan® testing to assess liver stiffness and fat content without invasive procedures.

This non-invasive, ultrasound-based study helps evaluate liver scarring (fibrosis) and fatty changes. The test is quick, painless, and performed in the office, allowing results to be reviewed and discussed as part of your care plan, often without the need for biopsy.

Why Expert Care at Shaya Digestive & Liver Clinic Matters

Fatty liver disease spans a broad range of severity: from early, reversible fat accumulation to forms with significant inflammation and fibrosis. Because this condition is often silent and intertwined with metabolic health, it requires more than a one-size-fits-all approach.

At Shaya Digestive & Liver Clinic, we provide:

Comprehensive risk assessment evaluating metabolic contributors and liver-specific factors together.

Advanced, noninvasive monitoring  including in-office FibroScan® testing to accurately quantify steatosis and fibrosis without routine biopsy.

Coordinated, long-term follow-up  focused on preventing progression and optimizing overall metabolic health.

Expert guidance from a gastroenterologist,  grounded in current clinical guidelines and individual risk profiles.

Our Wholesome Management Approach

There is no single “quick fix” for fatty liver disease. Sustainable improvement comes from structured, long-term care. At Shaya Digestive & Liver Clinic we do not rely on extreme diets or fear-based recommendations. Instead, our care is practical and individualized. Your care plan may include:

Personalized nutrition guidance (realistic and sustainable)

Weight management strategies focused on metabolic health

Exercise recommendations that fit your lifestyle

Optimization of diabetes, cholesterol, and insulin resistance

Medication review and evidence-based therapies when appropriate

Many patients are reassured to learn that fatty liver disease can often be stabilized, and in some cases improved, with thoughtful monitoring and targeted changes.
