Endoscopic ultrasound, or EUS, combines endoscopy with high-frequency ultrasound to create detailed images of your digestive tract and nearby organs. A thin, flexible scope with a small ultrasound probe on the tip is gently guided into the digestive tract, letting your doctor see structures that a standard endoscopy or scan cannot reach.
EUS is especially useful for examining the walls of the esophagus, stomach, and intestine, as well as the pancreas, bile ducts, and surrounding lymph nodes.
