Safe, Precise Procedures to See, Diagnose, and Treat Digestive Problems From the Inside
Endoscopy is a group of safe, minimally invasive procedures that let a gastroenterologist look inside your digestive tract using a thin, flexible tube with a tiny camera and light. It lets your doctor see problems directly, take tissue samples, and often treat conditions, all without surgery.
Different endoscopy procedures examine different parts of the digestive system. At Shaya Digestive and Liver Clinic, our board-certified gastroenterologist performs a full range of endoscopic procedures using modern equipment and gentle sedation, so you get accurate answers with as little discomfort as possible.
We offer a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. A colonoscopy examines the colon and rectum to screen for and prevent colon cancer. An upper endoscopy (EGD) examines the esophagus, stomach, and upper intestine. Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) combines endoscopy with ultrasound for detailed views of the digestive walls, pancreas, and bile ducts. Capsule endoscopy uses a swallowable camera to see the small intestine. ERCP diagnoses and treats problems in the bile ducts and pancreas. Your doctor will recommend the right procedure for your symptoms.

Yes. Endoscopy is a very safe, routine procedure. Serious complications are rare, and your care team monitors you closely throughout.
Most endoscopy procedures use sedation, so you are relaxed and comfortable and usually do not remember the exam. Your team will explain what to expect for your specific procedure.
Preparation depends on the procedure. Some require fasting, and a colonoscopy requires bowel prep. We provide clear, step-by-step instructions before your visit.
